Prayer-Focus for Mid-Week Family Gathering

Today, Wednesday April 30 , presents an opportunity for the family to assess the positives/negatives of the week and enough time to set the remainder of the week aright if necessary. For example, “ How have things been in school this week; is there anything you think you should change for the rest of the week?” You can present this in a two-step manner for your younger children.

Since the school year is winding down but the weather is heating up, and daylight extends to bedtime for some of your little ones, getting homework completed early enough to have a quality dialogue, time can slip away. This combination presents a challenge.  It’ll be necessary to have a plan.

In order to meet the end-of-the-school-year-challenge you might want to go back to one of the first ten chapters of Proverbs that stresses the importance of wisdom in the Lord’s economy for your dialogue topic.

During one season of our family’s growth, we attended a church that had mid-week service and, even though there was early school dismissal to accommodate, (it was a Christian school), it was a real scramble to do dinner, do homework and get to church by seven.

Another church did not have Wednesday service, but my husband and I saw the value in getting together mid-week and having family-dialogue sessions. We continued by customizing it to the family’s need.

“A wise man (woman, boy or girl) will hear and increase in learning, and a man (woman, boy or girl) of understanding will acquire wise counsel.” Proverbs 1:5

Let the Lord's Grace and Mercy fill the hearts of your family as you gather together today in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Continuing in Him,

Miss Huldah
