Family-Nurturing Communication-Started As "Love-on Daddy" Night!
Hello, this is Miss Huldah, I write Momlettes to encourage you in starting a system of communication that is Family-Nurturing.
So, the powers that be tell us a few days ago that the Recession is official; they tell us that it actually started December 2007.
One
could almost hear the collective reaction “Duh! Oh you don’t say! Tell
me something new!” Anyone experiencing real-life issues could have told
them; in actuality many households before 12/07 were in a recession.
Then it went on to say, "most severe slump since the 1981-82 recession."
I remember that recession; our family endured it and successfully recovered because of the power of prayer and nurturing communication. When I say successfully I'm not talking money, I'm talking emotionally. Strategic-Prayer guided us and gave us strength to face the trauma daily.
Hey,I just realized I've never told you the story of how our family's regular meetings began.
My husband’s commute was hard on the family, especially our children (three hours each way )caused him to leave before the children were up; he usually arrived after their bedtime.Their bedtime hugs and kisses from Dad were limited to one or two days a week for many years. I was also commuting to my office at Helene Fuld Medical Center in New Jersey. My commute was not as long but it seem the family was always in transit. Family-time was very precious.
The summer our kids were four and seven,we'd already experienced two crashing layoffs. My husband and I attended a Marriage Encounter weekend for our 10th anniversary. Being re-established in the Lord's position on the covenant of marriage, praying together for our marriage, and commitment to scripture reading with each other, we returned home energized and focused on the nurturing communication system we'd just learned.
As summer ended that year, the kids wanted to show their dad what they'd from gymnastics and music camp, it turned into a love-in for Daddy. On a Saturday afternoon they planned the party for Dad and they could perform their school activities; that afternoon after going to the library for a movie, snacks, balloons and party favor supermarket and the board games. we started early in the afternoon because they could hardly wait.It was such a great success.."Can we do it again?".."You bet..and we did.
Family-Prayer is the Most Valuable Commodity~Family Nurturing Communication is the Enabler
As school days and years continued, our regular family gathering developed into a Family-Nurturing Communication practice that became a commodity our family could never have imagined.
Don't
let the communication among family members tank because the the economy
is tanking and anxiety increases. You'll reap many benefits as you work
at it! Don't be discouraged when not everyone wants to get involved every time. Keep moving forward

Your
family and your family relationships are your most important commodity
right now. Economic pressures put strain on your marriage, on your relationship with your children; prolonged
economic pressure can wreck havoc on your goals and finances. The loss
of
financial stability is so devastating a condition that it can place your
family relationships in a jeopardy when you're not looking.
God is our refuge and strength; a very present help in time of trouble" Psalm 46:1,2
Just Because of Him this Psalm is true and as living as the day it was penned. He is your refuge and your strength. When we had no strength, He was out strength..He quieted our disquieted souls.
