Facing a Layoff?

It’s Friday! For someone it might be “Pink Slip” Friday. If you are facing a job layoff or sudden financial loss I am familiar with your pain.

Layoffs and the subsequent financial losses are a family matter; everyone in the family is affected by the news. Whether you knew it was about to happen or it’s unexpected, it is going to cause a major interruption into the family’s life. I know the emotion-flood that grips your mind. Apprehension, concern, and anxious-sweat-beads pouring from places previously dry.

You keep repeating the same question, “How are we (the family) going to survive?”

Even though my husband and I had experience two previous layoffs, we were not prepared for the way the third one affected us on every level.

By then we were in our early forties, our children were teens; financial obligations were so much greater. There were no guidebooks, on family survival of a job loss. Yet we survived, successfully we survived. You ask, how?

Through the Power of Prayer!!

Try Prayer!! Do you know that you can take these feelings, all of them, and release them to prayer? Right now, immediately go into prayer. Why? Because Jesus Christ, who is acquainted with our pain, our sorrow, and the fallout from our job loss has comfort for your soul.

He was despised and rejected; a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief.” (Isaiah 53:3 )

“Come to me all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 Both verses are quoted from The Living Bible)
